Carlos L. del Rio, Ph.D., FACC, FAHA, is a recognized leader in cardiovascular translational science, known for helping turn complex cardiac biology into breakthrough therapies. Over his career in industry, spanning Braveheart Bio, Kardigan Bio, Moderna, Edgewise Therapeutics, and MyoKardia, he has built and led teams that move bold ideas from the lab to the clinic. His contributions have helped bring transformative innovations to patients, such as the V Wave™ Ventura intra atrial shunt or Camzyos® (mavacamten), the first in class cardiac myosin inhibitor approved for the treatment of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He holds M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University and is an inventor and author on multiple patents and publications in cardiovascular disease and/or their treatment.
